How to submit black list request

If you receive an email that you would like to have black listed please email the message with the header to mailhelp@penpublishing.com  Please put blacklist in the subject line. 

Most email software hide headers, but every email that travels has a header. The header information contains the history of that email. It tells where it came from, the IP Address of the source email server, any email servers it has been relayed through and the receiving server. Getting the header properties are most import in the aid of tracking email problems and SPAM.
 

The follow are instruction on how to retrieve this information from the various email clients (email reader software): Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2007, Thunderbird.

In Outlook Express, the message header can be retrieved in the following manner:

  1. Open the email message you want to forward.
  2. Choose File | Properties from the file menu.
  3. A dialog box will pop up. Select the Details tab.
  4. The Details tab will have say: "Internet headers for this message." Highlight all of the text in the gray box. This is the message header.
  5. Press "Ctrl+c," or right click and choose Copy.
  6. Close the dialog box.
  7. Click the forward button in your mail client.
  8. Click in the body of the message and press "Ctrl+v" to paste the header into the forwarded message.
  9. Send the message to mailhelp@penpublishing.com with blacklist in the email message Subject box.

In Outlook 2003, the message header can be retrieved in the following manner:

  1. Highlight the message you want to forward.
  2. Right click with your mouse button.
  3. Choose Options from the file menu.
  4. Highlight all of the text in the Internet Header box in the middle of the dialog. This is the message header.
  5. Press | ctrl+c | or right click and choose Copy.
  6. Close the dialog box.
  7. Click the forward button in your mail client.
  8. Click in the body of the message and press | ctrl+v | to paste the header into the forwarded message.
  9. Send the message to mailhelp@penpublishing.com with blacklist in the email message Subject box.

Thunderbird: While viewing the email message, select "View" from the main menu, and then "Page Source". This will show you the entire email message, including all of the routing information from the originator to you. For email complaint purposes, first begin composing your message then copy this entire window and paste this into your complaint message, below your complaint.

Microsoft Outlook 2007: While viewing the email message, right click on the message subject and choose "Message Options". This will show you the routing information of the message in the "Internet headers:" box. For email complaint purposes, first begin composing your message, then copy and paste this routing information, then switch back to the message window and copy the message and paste it in below the routing information.
